1996 Mercury Tracer
The Mercury Tracer is a vehicle that features a front-drive in its complete makeover
in 1991. Tracer is a twin of the Ford Escort which also had its redesign on the
same year as the Tracer's, sharing almost all components having only very little
distinctive features. Mercury Tracer is available in four-door notchback or four-door
wagon.

The only change that the Tracer has got in 1996 was the addition of 100,000-mile
platinum tipped spark plugs. Mercury Tracer is equipped with 1.9-liter four-cylinder
engine that generates 88 horsepower, a much weaker powertrain than LTS's. The
LTS features a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that includes dual-overhead-cam,
reaching 127 horsepower. The two engines on the other hand are both coupled with
either five-speed manual transmission or four-speed automatic transmission which
is being offered as an option.
