The Mercury Tracer is a four-door subcompact vehicle that offers a roomy interior for midsize persons. It can accommodate five passengers with its split folding rear seat. Tracer is a cheap vehicle that could give satisfying and comfortable ride with some of its luxury features. 1996 Tracer is the last redesign done for this model which resulted to a bigger, faster, and more stylish vehicle. In 1991 was also been redesigned, entering the season as a front-drive car with its Ford Escort as twin.

The difference between these two can only be seen through some distinctive features. It is a vehicle that doesn't only give enough power to pull itself but also features some luxury items that makes it more appealing to consumers aside from its price putting it to Urban Pick level. The five-speed manual transmission and four-speed automatic transmission helps Tracer's engine to give its bet performance. The Tracer is a roomy vehicle for a subcompact although the space at back is a bit unsatisfying especially when the passengers are big and tall, hence the legroom won't be enough.
